Nicole Ari Parker (born Nicole Ari Parker) is an American actress who works in television, film as well as theatre. Contractor Born from Mumbai in India, was raised in Nigeria up until she turned seven. She was already exposed to many different travels and cultures from a early age. After attending boarding schools for seven years in London Her family then moved to Toronto Canada where she spent much of her early years and early adulthood. Contractor achieved academic success at the University of Toronto Toronto while also training as a ballerina. She attended the Etobicoke School of the Arts - a specialized arts high school in which she studied more than just dance but also drama. Contractor took the decision to study acting more seriously at age of 16 following almost 10 years dancing. When she completed her high school education, she was awarded a full Scholarship to University of Toronto. At the University of Toronto she completed the Master of Arts in Theatre. She also double majored with sociology and psychology. Contractor was given the lead role in Pericles after a one-year stint at the University. She auditioned for the part in the Stratford Shakespeare Festival (Ontario Canada) and was awarded. After 92 performances, she received positive reviews. The production was recognized as the best production in Canada by reviewers. Contractor was offered the opportunity to join Stratford's conservatory course, in which only eight males as well as four women can be accepted for a course lasting 20 weeks on the classical stage that she gladly accepted.
