Nicole Ari Parker (born Nicole Ari Parker) is an American actress who works in television, film as well as theatre. The most famous of her roles is Teri Joe, a fiery lawyer in The Showtime series Soul Food. The actress is known under her husband's name, Nikki Kodjoe. Her talent for acting was evident in her early years. A Maryland high school contest gave her the top actress prize. After working in theater and 'The Washington Ballet Company she graduated with a degree in acting from 'New York University. The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love, her debut role in a major film, won her great admiration. Following this, she starred in movies like "Boogie Nights Spark" and "Blue Streak". Soul Food was an immensely popular TV series. The actress was featured in TV shows such as Second Time Around, and Empire. Earlier on in her life, Parker appeared in many stage productions. Parker who has a keen passion for politics she is currently married to actor/model Boris Kodjoe. They have two children together.
Contractor Born from Mumbai in India, was raised in Nigeria up until she turned seven. She was already exposed to many different travels and cultures from a early age. After attending boarding schools for seven years in London Her family then moved to Toronto Canada where she spent much of her early years and early adulthood. Contractor achieved academic success at the University of Toronto Toronto while also training as a ballerina. She attended the Etobicoke School of the Arts - a specialized arts high school in which she studied more than just dance but also drama. Contractor took the decision to study acting more seriously at age of 16 following almost 10 years dancing. When she completed her high school education, she was awarded a full Scholarship to University of Toronto. At the University of Toronto she completed the Master of Arts in Theatre. She also double majored with sociology and psychology. Contractor was given the lead role in Pericles after a one-year stint at the University. She auditioned for the part in the Stratford Shakespeare Festival (Ontario Canada) and was awarded. After 92 performances, she received positive reviews. The production was recognized as the best production in Canada by reviewers. Contractor was offered the opportunity to join Stratford's conservatory course, in which only eight males as well as four women can be accepted for a course lasting 20 weeks on the classical stage that she gladly accepted. Contractor was offered a place for the next season. She was also offered the part of Hermia.
